Plantation of a Sapling in the College Campus by Rotary Club, Hoshiarpur
Planting trees is one of the main reason that makes this planet habitable. They are the source of oxygen which is essential for the survival of all living beings. Without this, there is no possibility of life. Keeping in view the significance of trees in our life, Principal Dr. S.S. Sharma, Members of the Rotary Club Hoshiarpur, Faculty Members and Office Superintendent Mr. Parveen Saini planted a sapling in the college campus to make it eco-friendly.

Online Competition on Folk Songs
India is a country of rich heritage and a land of cultural diversities. Each region has its own form of folk music and songs that keeps our heritage alive. Keeping in view the importance of Folk Songs an online competition on folk songs was organized by the College. President Dr. Anoop Kumar, Secretary Sh. D.L. Anand and Principal Dr. S.S. Sharma congratulated the winners and appreciated the efforts of the organizers.

Online State Level Competition on Teeyan Teej Diyan
Teej is a major festival of women. It is celebrated every year in the month of July-August with great enthusiasm and verve. It is very pious and ominous festival for Indian Women where newly married and young unmarried women get together to celebrate the beginning of rainy season. Under the ample guidance of President Dr. Anoop Kumar and Secretary Sh. D.L. Anand, Kalpana Chawla Women Development Club of D.A.V. College of Education, Hoshiarpur organized an online state level competition on Teeyan Teej Diyan. President Dr. Anoop Kumar, Secretary Sh. D.L. Anand and Principal Dr. S.S. Sharma congratulated the winners and appreciated the efforts of the organizers.

College Magazine "Shikshodaya" (2019-20) Released
Annual College Magazine “Shikshodaya (2019-20) of D.A.V. College of Education, Hoshiarpur was released by President Dr. Anoop Kumar and Secretary Sh. D.L. Anand (Retd. Principal). Vice-President Prof. R.M. Bhalla, Joint Secretary Prof. Sharanjit Saini, Mr. Y.P. Joshi (Member Management) Principal Dr. S.S. Sharma and Faculty Members also glorified the occasion with their esteemed presence. President Dr. Anoop Kumar and Secretary Sh. D.L. Anand appreciated the sincere efforts of the college Principal Dr. S.S. Sharma, Editor-in-Chief Dr. Harvinder Kaur, Associate Editor Dr. Naresh Kumar and Staff Editors to prepare the college magazine during COVID-19 lockdown.

Two Days Training Programme of Faculty Members
The world is facing the biggest crisis in the form of Covid-19 which is spreading exponentially all around the world. India now stands as one of the worst-hit Covid-19 countries in the world. In the middle of this crisis, Dean College Development Council, Panjab University, Chandigarh organized two days online training programme on “Managing Virtual Classroom and Online Teaching” for faculty members of its affiliated and constituent colleges. Principal Dr. S.S. Sharma and Faculty Members of D.A.V. College of Education, Hoshiarpur actively and enthusiastically participated in this training programme. The main purpose was to train the faculty members for online teaching at Google classroom. President Dr. Anoop Kumar and Secretary Sh. D.L. Anand (Retd. Principal) appreciated the efforts of the Principal Dr. S.S. Sharma and motivated the Faculty Members to adopt online teaching mode during the pandemic so that the students may be benefitted a lot.

Spectacular Result of B.Ed. Semester-III
Under the ample guidance of President Dr. Anoop Kumar and Hon’ble Secretary Sh. D.L. Anand (Retd. Principal), the students of D.A.V. College of Education, Hoshiarpur got spectacular positions in the final result of B.Ed. Semester-III. In this result Surbhi Arora got first position with 95% marks, Jaspreet Kaur got second with 94.66% marks and Harjot Kaur got third position with 94.33% marks. Beyond this 30 students scored more than 90% marks and 71 students scored more than 85% marks. The total result of the college is 100%. President Dr. Anoop Kumar, Hon’ble Secretary Sh. D.L. Anand and Principal Dr. S. S. Sharma congratulated the students for this great achievement. They also appreciated the efforts of the faculty and congratulated them for the 100% result of the college.

Celebration of International Mothers' Day
Mothers are the best gift of nature. It is the time to think about the legacies, aspects of society and challenges that mothers face every day. Kalpana Chawla Women Development Club of D.A.V. College of Education, Hoshiarpur organized online video shooting competition on international mothers' day to salute the motherhood, to increase the influence of mothers in the society and to increase the maternal bond to children. President Dr. Anoop Kumar, Hon’ble Secretary Sh. D.L. Anand (Retd. Principal) and Principal Dr. S.S. Sharma congratulated the winners and appreciated the efforts of the club.

Inauguration of New Academic Session
With the infinite grace of almighty and blessings of President Dr. Anoop Kumar and Secretary Sh. D.L. Anand (Retd. Principal), New Academic Session 2019-20 of M.Ed./B.Ed. was started at D.A.V. College of Education, Hoshiarpur by performing holy “Havna Yajna” as per the tradition of the college. The whole rituals were performed with the help of Veda Mantras in an eco-friendly way. All the eminent Members of the College Managing Committee, Principals, Faculty Members and Students got the blessings of the almighty before starting the session.

National Level Book Exhibition in the College Library
Books give plenty of joy to students, and they learn a lot of things from books. They take them into a unique world of imagination and improve their standard of living. Books help to inspire students to work hard with courage and hope. They enrich the experience of students and sharpen their intellect. Under the ample guidance of President Dr. Anoop Kumar and Secretary Sh. D.L. Anand (Retd. Principal), D.A.V. College of Education, Hoshiarpur organised a book exhibition in collaboration with National Book Trust, New Delhi. Sh. Avinash Rai Khanna, National Vice-President, BJP (Worthy Chief Guest), Secretary Sh. D.L. Anand, Other eminent Members of the College Managing Committee, and Principal Dr. S.S. Sharma inaugurated the book exhibition and they also congratulated and appreciated the efforts of Librarian Dr. Harvinder Kaur for this endeavour.

National Level Seminar on Water Conservation
Water is more than just water; the existence of whole universe is dependent on water. That’s why we say that water is life. Under the ample guidance of President Dr. Anoop Kumar and Secretary Sh. D.L. Anand (Retd. Principal), Social Awareness Club of D.A.V. College of Education, Hoshiarpur organized a national level seminar on water conservation to aware the students regarding the significance of water in our life. Sh. Avinash Rai Khanna, National Vice-President, BJP was the worthy Chief Guest of the day. While speaking on the occasion Sh. Avinash Rai Khanna made the students aware regarding the value of water and suggested the practical ways of water conservation. Secretary Sh. D.L. Anand (Retd. Principal) presented vote of thanks to the worthy chief guest and also asked the students to aware their family members regarding the water conservation.
