Havan Ceremony
With the infinite grace of almighty and blessings of President Dr. Anoop Kumar and Secretary Sh. D.L. Anand (Retd. Principal), D.A.V. College of Education, Hoshiarpur organized Havan Yajna to seek the divine blessings of the almighty for a fulfilling session ahead. On this great occasion Senior Vice-President Prof. R.M. Bhalla and Mrs. Bhalla performed the duty of the Yajmans. Vice-President Sh. Rahul Sharma, Joint Secretary Sh. Sharanjit Saini, Sh. Y.P. Joshi, Sh. Rajiv Sood, Director Dr. S.S. Sharma and other eminent dignitaries graced the occasion with their esteemed presence The “Havna Yajna” was performed with the help of Veda Mantras in an eco-friendly way by following the protocol of COVID-19. Members of the College Managing Committee, Faculty Members and Students of M.Ed. and B.Ed. Semester-I (Session: 2020-21) actively participated and seek the blessings of the almighty and prayed for the appraisal of the College, bright future of the students and welfare of the whole humanity during this COVID-19 pandemic. All also prayed for the good health of the Yajmans. Principal Dr. Vidhi Bhalla extended vote of thanks to all the dignitaries and stressed upon the importance of indomitable inner strength and strong character in attaining success in life. She also wished the students for their bright future.

Celebration of Pi-Day
Pi Day is an annual celebration of the mathematical constant π (pi). Pi Day is observed on March 14 (3/14 in the month/day format) since 3, 1, and 4 are the first three significant digits of π. Pi Day has been observed in many ways, including eating pie, throwing pies and discussing the significance of the number π, due to a pun based on the words "pi" and "pie" being homophones in English, and the coincidental circular shape of many pies. When mathematicians and math lovers around the world celebrate pi, often approximated to 3.14, which is the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter. Aryabhata Ganita Club of D.A.V. College of Education, Hoshiarpur celebrated the day through online mode by shooting the videos that highlighting the significance of the day. The students of Pedagogy of Mathematics also participated in a quiz competition and the winners were felicitated by Principal Dr. Vidhi Bhalla. She also appreciated the efforts of the students and the Teacher-in-Charge Mrs. Roma Ralhan.

Book Exhibition in the Library of the College
D.A.V. College of Education, Hoshiarpur organised a book exhibition in the Library of the College. The exhibition was inaugurated by Hon'ble Secretary Sh. D.L. Anand (Retd. Principal). Vice-President Sh. R.M. Bhalla, Joint Secretary Sh. Sharanjit Saini, Sh. Y.P. Joshi, Retd. Principal Sh. Gautam Mehta, Director Dr. S.S. Sharma and Principal Dr. Vidhi Bhalla also graced the occasion with their esteemed presence. Dr. Harvinder Kaur (Librarian) extended floral welcome to all the dignitaries. A collection of good text and reference books published by various National and International Publishers were exhibited to made the students aware regarding the books and to develop the reading habits among them. A set of New Education Policy was the main focus of attraction in this exhibition. On this great occasion Dr. Jasveera Manhas, Associate Professor, Government College, Hoshiarpur specially visited and accented such type of exhibitions are very beneficial for the students and create lot of awareness among them. Principal Dr. Vidhi Bhalla also congratulated and appreciated the efforts of the organizing committee.

Online National Level Digital Poster Making and Speech Contests on International Women's Day
Kalpana Chawla Women Development Club of the D.A.V. College of Education, Hoshiarpur organized online national level Digital Poster and Speech contests on International Women’s Day. Dr. Jasveera Anoop Manhas, Associate Professor, Government College, Hoshiarpur was the Worthy Chief Guest and Hon'ble Secretary Sh. D.L. Anand (Retd. Principal) was the Guest of Honour of the day. Other eminent dignitaries also graced the occasion. In the first category of digital poster making, Raj Preet Kaur from Pandori Bawa Dass got first prize Princepal Kaur from Punjabi University, Patiala and Beant Kaur from Roopnagar got second, Priyanka from Bhai Gurdas Institute of Education, Sangrur got third and Arpita from Pandori Bawa Dass, Hoshiarpur got appreciation prize. In the speech contest, Deepmala from B.C.M. College of Education, Ludhiana got first prize, Sanjna from G.H.G. Harparkash College of Education, Sidwan Khurd, Ludhiana got second, Anubhuti from Bhai Gurdas Institute of Education, Sangrur got third and Prabhjot from Qilla Baroon, Hoshiarpur got appreciation prize. Worthy chief guest along with eminent dignitaries felicitated the winners and Principal Dr. Vidhi Bhalla congratulated to all the winners and appreciated the efforts of the coordinator Dr. Monika and other members of the organizing committee.

Celebration of International Women's Day
Kalpana Chawla Women Development Club of the D.A.V. College of Education, Hoshiarpur celebrated International Women’s Day with great zeal and festivity. Dr. Jasveera Anoop Manhas was the worthy chief guest and Hon'ble Secretary Sh. D.L. Anand (Retd. Principal) was the guest of honour of the day. Vice-President Sh. R.M. Bhalla, Joint Secretary Sh. Sharanjit Saini, Sh. Y.P. Joshi, Retd. Principal Sh. Gautam Mehta and Director Dr. S.S. Sharma also graced the occasion with their esteemed presence. The programme was commenced with the formal welcome of the dignitaries by the Principal Dr. Vidhi Bhalla. Students participated in different activities like Ramp Walk, Dances, Poems and Speeches highlighting the significance of the women in the society. They also presented a play titled "Women-A Never Ending Story" directed by Dr. Harpreet Singh. In this contest Anjali was adjudged as the second runner up and Aasha was adjudged as the First runner up. Overall title of Miss D.A.V. won by Jasmin. On this great occasion Dr. Vidhi Bhalla was also honoured by the dignitaries to join the institution as a Principal in such a young age. Dr. Archna Sharma and Dr. Chetna Sharma were also honoured for the recent completion of their Doctorate Degree from Panjab University, Chandigarh. On the same occasion Mrs. Roma Ralhan was also honoured by the college as well as by the Deputy Commissioner, Hoshiarpur to start the NGO "Care and Share" in the service of humanity and Rupakshi, B.Ed. Sem.-I student also got third prize in the poster making competition at the district level and also honoured by the college as well as by the Deputy Commissioner, Hoshiarpur with a cash prize of one thousand rupees. Principal Dr. Vidhi Bhalla congratulated to all the winners and extended her gratitude and vote of thanks to all the dignitaries to spare the time and appreciated the efforts of the coordinator Dr. Monika and other members of the organizing committee.

Reading Fluency and Comprehension Competition
Library and Information Literacy Club in collaboration with English Literacy Club of the College organized a Competition on the theme “Reading Fluency and Comprehension” on March 3, 2021 in the college library to promote reading habits among the teacher trainees. In this competition total thirty student teachers participated enthusiastically. The competition was held in three mediums viz. Hindi, English and Punjabi. The main purpose of this activity was to aware students about importance of library and reading. Dr. Harvinder Kaur extended warm welcome to the dignitaries and highlighted the significance of the library. Principal Dr. Vidhi Bhalla congratulated the winners as well as participants and appreciated the efforts of the organizing team.

Online Celebration of National Science Day
National Science Day is celebrated every year on February 28. This day recalls the notable invention "Raman Effect" by India's greatest scientist C. V. Raman. The theme for National Science Day 2021 is "Future of STI: Impacts on Education, Skills, and Work". The National Science Day 2021 aims to motivate the students to gain hands-on experience in the field of science. The students of Science and Eco Club celebrated National Science Day by highlighting the significance of the day through their videos, Posters, Speeches, and Slogan Writings. Principal Dr. Vidhi Bhalla congratulated the participants and appreciated the efforts of the organizing committee.

Celebration of International Mother Language Day
Amrita Pritam Punjabi Sahit Sabha of D.A.V. College of Education, Hoshiarpur organized a contest on "Dhee Punjab Di and Gabru Punjab Da" during the celebration of International Mother Language Day in the Auditorium Hall of the College. Hon'ble Secretary Sh. D.L. Anand (Retd. Principal) was the Worthy Chief Guest of the day. Other dignitaries Joint Secretary Sh. Sharanjit Saini, Sh. Y.P. Joshi, Sh. Subhash Gandhi Members of the D.A.V. College Managing Committee and Director Shyam Sunder Sharma also glorified the occasion with their esteemed presence. In this contest Prof. Shaina Parmar, Ms. Kiranjot Kaur and Mr. Rubin were the eminent judges. The programme was commenced with the formal welcome of the dignitaries by the Principal Dr. Vidhi Bhalla. In this contest students participated in the Modelling, Activity and Skill Showing Rounds and Anjali was adjudged as the "Dhee Punjab Di" and Khushnaseeb Rahanu won the title of "Gabru Punjab Da". On this day Principal Dr. Vidhi Bhalla was also honoured to join the institution in such a young age. While addressing the students Secretary Sh. D.L. Anand made the students aware regarding the culture of the Punjab. Online Inter-House Quiz Competition
Social Sciences Media Club of D.A.V. College of Education, Hoshiarpur organized online Inter-House Quiz Competition to buckle up and tease the brains of the Teacher Trainees. All the teacher trainees from the different Houses of the College actively and enthusiastically participated in it. In the first category of Houses Competition Swami Dayanad House secured first position, Swami Vivekanand House secured second and Mahatma Gandhi House secured third position respectively. In the second category of individual prizes Isha (Roll No. 57) got first prize, Anchal Verma (Roll No. 02) and Zarina Begam (Roll No. 97) got second and Dolly Raju (Roll No. 152) and Jaspreet Kaur (Roll No. 153) got third prizes respectively. President Dr. Anoop Kumar, Hon’ble Secretary Sh. D.L. Anand, Director Dr. S.S. Sharma and Principal Dr. Vidhi Bhalla congratulated the winners and the members of the club for the success of the event.

Celebration of Basant Panchmi
Social Awareness Club of D.A.V. College of Education, Hoshiarpur celebrated Basant Panchami in its premises with full vivacity and festivity. The college was decorated with yellow rangolis, balloons and kites. The yellow beautiful attires of the Faculty Members and Teacher Trainees were the charm of the day. Hon'ble Secretary Sh. D.L. Anand (Retd. Principal) was the worthy chief guest of the day. Other dignitaries Joint Secretary Sh. Sharanjit Saini, Sh. Y.P. Joshi, Sh. Gautam Mehta, Members D.A.V. College Managing Committee and Director S.S. Sharma also glorified the occasion with their esteemed presence. The celebration commenced with the Saraswati Vandana and formal welcome of the dignitaries by the Principal Dr. Vidhi Bhalla. On this great occasion students actively and enthusiastically participated in the various competitions viz.- Kite Flying, Spoon Race and Inter-House Corner Decoration on the theme of Basant Panchmi. Secretary Sh. D.L. Anand also flied the kite and judged the decorated corners of the students. Worthy chief guest along with dignitaries felicitated the winners and also made the students aware with the history of the college. Online Celebration of World Cancer Day
The Union of International Cancer Control (UICC) has taken the observance of World Cancer Day as a ‘Global Uniting Initiative’. This means people all around the world are called upon to unite and fight against the disease. The students of Science and Eco Club B.Ed. spread awareness regarding the cancer disease by detection, early diagnosis, treatment and extending moral support through their videos and posters. An online quiz was also conducted by the club to check the basic knowledge of the students. Principal Dr. Vidhi Bhalla congratulated the winners of the quiz and appreciated the efforts of all the students and faculty members.

Online Orientation Programme for New Students
Orientation programmes serve as a foundation for College success. It sets a lasting impression for new students and their families. The main purpose of a good orientation session in the college is to bridge the gap between the faculty members and the students ensuring a smooth communication between the two. New academic session 2020-22 of the B.Ed. Course commenced w.e.f. February 1, 2021 as per the academic calendar of the Panjab University, Chandigarh. D.A.V. College of Education, Hoshiarpur organized an online orientation programme to welcome the newly admitted students and to prepare them for their new role. All the faculty members made the students aware regarding the College, Rules and Regulations, Code of Conducts, Curriculum and Time Table. Principal Dr. Vidhi Bhalla in her inaugural address welcomed the new students and she advised them to make good use of the facilities that the college offers and urged them to be sincere and responsible.

Republic Day is celebrated all over India with great gratification and joy. It’s a day to honour the Constitution of independent India. The Indian Constitution came into effect on 26th January, 1950, which declared India’s occurrence as an independent republic. The important symbols of the festival include the exhibition of military equipments and the national flag. D.A.V. College of Education, Hoshiarpur celebrated Republic Day through online mode. Students shared their posters, poems, videos and patriotic songs highlighting the significance of the Indian Constitution through online mode. President Dr. Anoop Kumar, Secretary Sh. D.L. Celebration of Lohri
D.A.V. College of Education, Hoshiarpur celebrated “Lohri” in its premises with great exuberance and fanfare. The programme kicked off with Lohri Poojan and lightening of the sacred bonfire by the Worthy Chief Guest Sh. Avinash Rai Khanna, National Vice-President, BJP. On this great occasion President Dr. Anoop Kumar, Secretary Sh. D.L. Anand (Retd. Principal), Joint Secretary Prof. Sharanjit Saini, Sh. Y.P. Joshi, Director Dr. S.S. Joining of Acting Principal
Dr. Arti Saluja a very experienced and senior most Faculty Member of the College appointed as the Acting Principal of the D.A.V. College of Education, Hoshiarpur on 10th November, 2020. Members of the Faculty extended a warm welcome by presenting a bouquet. Dr. Arti Saluja has replaced Dr. Shyam Sunder Sharma who served the institution more than ten years as a Principal and recently appointed as Director of the College. Dr. Arti Saluja is serving the institution from last thirty five years. While interacting with the faculty members she instructed the staff about their duties. President Dr. Anoop Kumar and Secretary Sh. D.L. Anand (Retd. Principal) also congratulated her and wished for the growth and development of the College.

Spectacular Results of B.Ed. Semester-IV (2018-2020)
Under the able guidance of the Worthy President Dr. Anoop Kumar and Hon’ble Secretary Sh. D.L. Anand (Retd. Principal), the students of D.A.V. College of Education, Hoshiarpur hold spectacular positions in the final result of B.Ed. Semester-IV, Session:2018-20. In this result Surbhi Arora got first position with 87% marks, Harjot Kaur got second with 86% marks and Mandeep Kaur, Samriti and Ranjit Kaur got third position with 84% marks. Beyond these positions 68 students scored more than 75% marks and 28 students scored more than 80% marks. The overall result of the college is 100% and on this great occasion President Dr. Anoop Kumar, Hon’ble Secretary Sh. D.L. Anand and Principal Dr. S. S. Sharma congratulated the students for this great achievement and also appreciated the efforts of the faculty members to make the teaching-learning process effective even during the lockdown period of Covid-19.

Celebration of Teachers' Day
With the blessings of President Dr. Anoop Kumar and Hon’ble Secretary Sh. D.L. Anand (Retd. Principal), the students of D.A.V. College of Education, Hoshiarpur celebrated Teachers’ Day through online mode to commemorate the birth anniversary of a great teacher Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, who was a staunch believer of education and was a well-known diplomat, scholar, the President of India and above all, a teacher. College of Education, Hoshiarpur organized Online Inter-College Shabad Ucharan and Poem Recitation Competitions on the occasion of 400th Birth Anniversary of Shri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji - Hind Di Chadar in collaboration with Department of Youth Welfare, Panjab University, Chandigarh. The students from different affiliated and constituent Colleges of the Panjab University, Chandigarh actively participated by abiding the rules and regulations of the said competitions. Two Days Training Programme of Faculty Members
The world is facing the biggest crisis in the form of Covid-19 which is spreading exponentially all around the world. India now stands as one of the worst-hit Covid-19 countries in the world. In the middle of this crisis, Dean College Development Council, Panjab University, Chandigarh organized two days online training programme on “Managing Virtual Classroom and Online Teaching” for faculty members of its affiliated and constituent colleges. Principal Dr. S.S. Sharma and Faculty Members of D.A.V. College of Education, Hoshiarpur actively and enthusiastically participated in this training programme. The main purpose was to train the faculty members for online teaching at Google classroom. President Dr. Anoop Kumar and Secretary Sh. D.L. Anand (Retd. Principal) appreciated the efforts of the Principal Dr. S.S. Sharma and motivated the Faculty Members to adopt online teaching mode during the pandemic so that the students may be benefitted a lot.

Spectacular Result of B.Ed. Semester-III
Under the ample guidance of President Dr. Anoop Kumar and Hon’ble Secretary Sh. D.L. Anand (Retd. Principal), the students of D.A.V. College of Education, Hoshiarpur got spectacular positions in the final result of B.Ed. Semester-III. In this result Surbhi Arora got first position with 95% marks, Jaspreet Kaur got second with 94.66% marks and Harjot Kaur got third position with 94.33% marks. Beyond this 30 students scored more than 90% marks and 71 students scored more than 85% marks. The total result of the college is 100%. President Dr. Anoop Kumar, Hon’ble Secretary Sh. D.L. Anand and Principal Dr. S. S. Sharma congratulated the students for this great achievement. They also appreciated the efforts of the faculty and congratulated them for the 100% result of the college.

College of Education, Hoshiarpur organized online video shooting competition on international mothers' day to salute the motherhood, to increase the influence of mothers in the society and to increase the maternal bond to children. Inauguration of New Academic Session
With the infinite grace of almighty and blessings of President Dr. Anoop Kumar and Secretary Sh. D.L. Anand (Retd. Principal), New Academic Session 2019-20 of M.Ed./B.Ed. was started at D.A.V. College of Education, Hoshiarpur by performing holy “Havna Yajna” as per the tradition of the college. The whole rituals were performed with the help of Veda Mantras in an eco-friendly way. All the eminent Members of the College Managing Committee, Principals, Faculty Members and Students got the blessings of the almighty before starting the session.

National Level Seminar on Water Conservation
Water is more than just water; the existence of whole universe is dependent on water. That’s why we say that water is life. Under the ample guidance of President Dr. Anoop Kumar and Secretary Sh. D.L. Anand (Retd. Principal), Social Awareness Club of D.A.V. College of Education, Hoshiarpur organized a national level seminar on water conservation to aware the students regarding the significance of water in our life. Sh. Avinash Rai Khanna, National Vice-President, BJP was the worthy Chief Guest of the day. While speaking on the occasion Sh. Avinash Rai Khanna made the students aware regarding the value of water and suggested the practical ways of water conservation. Secretary Sh. D.L. Anand (Retd.
